At Calvert Rainbow Alliance, Inc., we proudly honor the life and legacy of Tavian Moore, affectionately known as Tay-Tay, a beloved founding member whose memory continues to inspire our commitment to compassion, inclusion, and community care.

Tavian was a cherished member of our CRA family. His life mattered, his presence made a difference, and his memory deserves to be celebrated.

As a transgender young person whose life ended by suicide, Tavian's story reminds us of the importance of creating communities where LGBTQ+ individuals are seen, respected, supported, and loved.

Through Tavian's Rainbow Kitchen, we carry his memory forward by helping individuals and families facing hunger, food insecurity, and other hardships throughout Southern Maryland.

His legacy lives on through every act of kindness, every meal shared, and every life touched.

Tavian's Rainbow Kitchen is a community outreach initiative of Calvert Rainbow Alliance, Inc., established in loving memory of Tavian Moore.

Our mission is to address food insecurity and provide compassionate assistance to LGBTQ+ individuals, children, families, and other vulnerable members of our Southern Maryland community.

We recognize that food insecurity can affect anyone, regardless of age, identity, background, or circumstances.

For individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, financial hardship, or unexpected life challenges, access to nutritious food and basic necessities can make a meaningful difference.

Tavian's Rainbow Kitchen exists to help meet those needs with dignity, kindness, and love.

Because everyone deserves a place at the table.

Through community generosity, volunteer involvement, and partnerships with local organizations, Tavian's Rainbow Kitchen works to provide assistance through:

• Food Drives: Collecting nonperishable foods and other essential grocery items for individuals and families experiencing hardship.
• Grocery Assistance: Helping connect people in need with food and everyday household necessities.
• Community Partnerships: Working with local businesses, churches, farms, food providers, and community organizations to strengthen food assistance efforts.
• Volunteer Outreach: Bringing community members together to collect, organize, package, and distribute donated supplies.
• Resource Connections: Helping individuals and families identify additional community resources and supportive services that promote stability and well-being.

Our mission extends beyond addressing immediate hunger.

We strive to create meaningful connections that help individuals and families feel supported, valued, and empowered.

At Tavian's Rainbow Kitchen, we believe food represents more than nourishment.

A meal can offer comfort.

A bag of groceries can provide relief.

A helping hand can restore hope.

And a community that shows up when someone needs support can remind that person they are not alone.

We believe that compassion should never depend on someone's identity, financial circumstances, or ability to pay.

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and kindness.

Tavian's Rainbow Kitchen depends on the generosity of people and organizations who believe in caring for their neighbors.
