At Calvert Rainbow Alliance, Inc., we proudly carry forward the vision and legacy of our beloved founding member, Danny Malay-Miller, a passionate advocate for equality, compassion, and community.

Danny believed that everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and safe. His unwavering dedication to helping others continues to inspire our work, particularly our commitment to supporting Southern Maryland's often-overlooked homeless population, including LGBTQ+ youth and adults.

In his memory, the former Rainbow Backpack Project has been renamed Danny's Rainbow Duffles, ensuring that his legacy continues through meaningful acts of kindness and service.

Our Fundraising Goal: $10,000

Homelessness and housing instability are often hidden in Southern Maryland. Behind the statistics are individuals, children, and families struggling to meet their most basic needs.

Some live in temporary shelters, vehicles, or encampments, while others move between unstable living arrangements.

Through Danny's Rainbow Duffles, CRA works to provide essential supplies to people experiencing homelessness, housing instability, and financial hardship.

Depending on available resources and individual needs, our duffel bags may contain:

• Nonperishable food and nutritional essentials
• Toiletries and personal hygiene products
• Warm clothing, socks, and seasonal necessities
• Stationery and grade-specific school supplies
• Other everyday essentials

Every duffle carries more than supplies. It carries dignity, compassion, hope, and the reminder that someone cares.

We welcome support from individuals, families, businesses, faith communities, restaurants, farmers, civic organizations, government partners, and other community supporters.

You can make a difference by:

• Making a financial contribution
• Donating essential supplies
• Organizing a community collection drive
• Volunteering to sort, pack, or distribute supplies
• Partnering with CRA to expand our outreach
